Pastoral
Our aim is to have all barriers removed to learning and to create a safe and secure environment in which all are comfortable to attend and express themselves through their learning and ultimately grow and achieve as young people.
At Woodlands School, we pride ourselves on having a large and incredibly proactive and caring pastoral team. This consists of a Deputy Head Teacher, Mr Amran, who oversees pastoral care, a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Assistant Head Teacher Mrs Riste, a Pastoral Manager, Mrs Wykes, heads of year and assistant heads of year, most of which do not teach so are readily available.
We also have counsellors, a mental health and wellbeing team, a trainee social worker and tie in with a huge range of external agencies to provide support and guidance to our youngsters.
Woodlands School is not perfect, but we aim to help all to have huge Aspirations, cope and learn from any setback by providing the skills and tools that Resilience requires, keep creating Opportunities to grow as a person and giving all the very best chance to experience Excellence on a daily basis by embracing our ethos.
