Playing county level football at a young age and always being a sports enthusiast, Aaron has always had a passion for Strength and Conditioning. A 3 year BSc (hons) degree in Sports and Exercise Science at Brighton University was completed and during this time he worked as the assistant Sport and Exercise Science coach at Watford Football Club.

His most recent work in elite sport was as the assistant Strength & Conditioning for Charlton Athletic Football Club, for the both the 1st team and U21’s. Main responsibilities were implementation of their gym-based strength programmes and monitoring of the player’s fatigue to prevent injuries. This then led Aaron to study and achieve an MSc degree in Strength and Conditioning at Middlesex University.

Aaron has a very strong background in the education sector, providing his S&C knowledge to students at a variety of levels. Aaron has previously lead the Personal Fitness & Training Foundation degree program and Applied Physiology and Strength & Conditioning modules at South Essex College for their BSc Sports Studies programme.  More recently Aaron has lectured at the University of Essex, specialising in Strength & Conditioning within their BSc Sports Therapy programme. This is combined with being the head Strength & Conditioning coach for Rochford Hundred Rugby Club 1st team and Academy and Thurrock Dragons U12’s F.C.  Aaron’s company Performance Training works with elite athletes in the Essex and surrounding areas as a personalised S&C coach. Performance Training also offer potential students the ability to qualify as a YMCA Awards Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers as part of the teaching programme that is set up at Basildon Sporting Village.


Aaron’s role at Woodlands School’s Elite Player Development programme will run parallel to his philosophy of Youth S&C:


  • Increase athlete performance
  • Prevention of Injury
  • Allow students to develop long-term athletic capabilities for student’s to compete over a multi-disciplinary of sports


Aaron’s ethos for Strength and Conditioning is to provide individual programming to every single athlete on the EPD programme. Corrective exercise , testing, fundamentals of training, movement mechanics and readiness to train are all areas that Aaron will analyse for every single athlete to ensure the philosophy of youth S&C is achieved.
