BT Office Trip
On Tuesday 16th of December, some of our pupils visited the BT offices in Aldgate to take part in the BT Get Ready Workshop.
The workshop gave pupils a chance to see what a career at BT could involve, and all the different jobs needed to make a big company like BT run.

Anglia Ruskin University
On Monday 15th December, some of our Triple Science pupils visited Anglia Ruskin University. Pupils took part in the Animal Encounters Lecture run by the Science and Engineering faculty. Grace, a wildlife presenter, brought some of her animals trained for films and commercials, rats rang along a tightrope and an owl flew over pupils' heads.

Christmas Classics at Eastgate Centre
On Thursday 11th December, APT Music pupils performed Christmas classics at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Basildon to raise money for St. Luke’s Hospice. Their musicianship, confidence and festive spirit shone throughout the morning, drawing a delighted crowd. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our pupils for their dedication and to St. Luke’s Hospice for inviting us.

Mathmas Workshop
On Friday 5th December, 60 of our Year 7 students took part in Merry Mathsmas, an interactive Zoom workshop led by mathematician Zoe Griffiths. Alongside a range of engaging puzzles, students explored the fold-and-cut theory-discovering how, with just one cut, they could create all sorts of surprising shapes from a single sheet of paper. It was a fun and thoughtful session that gave students plenty to enjoy and talk about.

Maths Inspiration Show
On December 1st, some of our Year 11 pupils visited the Matilda Theatre in London for a Maths Inspiration Show. The show included talks from Zoe Griffiths, Cambridge engineer, Hugh Hunt and mathematician and professional juggler, Colin Wright.
Pupils left excited, laughing, and inspired by how creative and engaging maths can be.
